Santa Pola is a coastal town located in the comarca of Baix Vinalopó in the Land of Valencia, Spain, by the Mediterranean Sea. The town has important salinas (artificial lagoons to get salt when seawater evaporates), known as Natural Park of Salines de Santa Pola, that have remarkable birds and vegetation. Santa Pola is, at present, a tourist town with good beaches and areas to fish. The nearby island of Tabarca (also known as Isla Plana) can be visited by ship.
