Saraçhane is one of the oldest districts of Istanbul, which hosted three great civilizations. Bozdoğan Aqueduct is located between Şehzadebaşı, Zeyrek and Kıztaşı. Bozdoğan Aqueduct, which was built in the 4th century to bring water to the city and was also used during the Ottoman period, is the oldest structure in Saraçhane. The district experienced its real development during the Ottoman period. Fatih Sultan Mehmet had the Istanbul Saraçhanesi established in 1475. Another historical building hosted by the district, which became famous for its tradesmen over time, is the Şehzade Mosque.
