The history of today's Kadıköy Pier, which is identified with Kadıköy Rıhtım Square, dates back a century. The first ferry to Kadıköy was started to be operated by the Fevaid-i Osmaniye Administration in 1846. The shore was filled over time and today's Kadıköy Square emerged in 1908.
