Benidorm is a city on the Costa Blanca in the Spanish province of Alicante. Since Francisco Ronda opened a first bathhouse in 1893 (the Casa de baños on Playa de Levante), more than 85 million tourists have visited Benidorm. Benidorm is very popular with the English, most tourists come from the UK.
In Benidorm there are two 2.5 km long beaches, the Playa de Poniente ('west beach') and the Playa de Levante ('east beach'), which are separated by the rock Punta Calfani. There is also the Playa del Mal Pas between the old town and Playa de Poniente and the Playa de Cala Tío Ximo in Rincon de Loix. Also very popular are the two large theme parks Terra Mítica and Mundomar.
