Neu-Ulm , or New Ulm in English, is a town in Bavaria, capital of the district Neu-Ulm. It's neighbours are Ulm, Senden, Pfaffenhofen an der Roth, Holzheim, Nersingen and Elchingen. The population is 51,110 (June 30, 2005). The history of Neu-Ulm begins with the change of the sovereignty over the city of Ulm from the Kingdom of Bavaria to the Kingdom of Württemberg in the year 1810. The fixing of the boundaries took place in the middle of the Danube river. The possessions right-side the Danube remained under bavarian sovereignty. That was the "birth" of Neu-Ulm.
